ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

 

 

Our corporate Environmental Policy helps define our commitment to support green initiatives and caring for our planet.

We are working towards designing our processes and products in a manner that best conserves the health of our planet. We have this in mind in all that we do and strive to search for improvements and better ways of being greener global citizens.

We take care by adopting the behaviors noted below:

 

• Buy better quality materials that are responsibly sourced
• Design and build better products that stand the test of time
• Our watch components are primarily made in high-grade stainless steel and are 90% recyclable and we always strive to improve on this through product research and collaboration with our partners
• We try to repurpose products where possible
• We aim to keep our watches staying properly functional and giving joy to its owners for as long as possible. We do this by offering an extensive repair service to prolong the life of our watches. To support this we keep a comprehensive stock of parts for products, even for long discontinued models. We hold this stock for longer than most design brands
• We minimise the use of leather to indirectly reduce the amount of methane released into the environment
• We use high-grade steel that is more costly and harder to work but benefits the environment by being more durable and prolonging the life of the product
• Our office and warehouses recycle paper, cardboard, cartons, and packaging to reduce waste and to help save our trees
• We use only LED lighting in our offices to conserve energy
• All STORM watches are supplied with mercury free batteries
• We ensure that any depleted batteries and unused parts are properly disposed of
• Our watch packaging is designed to be repurposed as storage tins for small items
• Our shipping cartons are made using sustainable materials. They are  plastic free,  recyclable and are carbon neutral
• We have recycled goods stored around the world for those interested in our early vintage designs
• We are always striving to bring down our use of air transport for shipment of our goods thereby reducing our carbon footprint
• We have a policy of switching from diesel/petrol to electric or hybrid vehicles within our business.
